Team Phoenix 1, captained by Greg Guest, held on to a very slim points lead going into Tuesday's individual matches at Trilogy Golf Club. In the end, the pursuing teams came up a bit short and 2003 Sir Elford Cup champion Palm Springs handed over the Cup at the awards ceremony at the Beer Hunter Bar and Grill that evening.
The 2004 Sir Elford Cup Champion Phoenix 1 team consists of: Brett Peterson, Reece Nigh, Doug Nelke, Mike Joyce, Bob Verolini, David Karpinski, Steve Wieltschnig, Kevin Dimond, Bob Rens, Brett Gibbs, Blane Freytag, Mike Pavlik.
As 2004 Sir Elford Cup champions, the team will retain the Cup in Phoenix until next year's competition. Each team participant received a scaled-down replica of the Cup along with a Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour golf bag and watch.

The host courses for this exciting event are not only two of the finest in the Palm Springs area, but the entire US as well. Teams will be battling it out for the Trophy at both PGA WEST (Stadium Course) and Trilogy Golf Club at LaQuinta.
The Club at PGA WEST has earned its title as "The Western Home of Golf in America"® by hosting many important tournaments, including players from the PGA TOUR, Senior PGA Tour, LPGA, and NCAA. One of the most famous shots in golf history occurred at the TPC® Stadium Golf Course, when Lee Trevino made a hole-in-one at number 17, "Alcatraz," during the 1988 Skins game.
PGA WEST Stadium was just recently listed #29 on Golf Magazine's Top 100 Courses You Can Play for 2004.
The Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta, located at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains in La Quinta, California, is a daily fee 18-hole championship golf course designed by golf course architect Gary Panks. The course design lends itself to the natural terrain and vista views overlooking the Coachella Valley.
The Trilogy Golf Club is the official host of the PGA TOUR's Skins game 2003 - '05.
