Find out how to get involved locally or nationally as a Tour Partner here.

From the competition to the hospitality, the mission of the American Amateur Golf Tour is to provide amateur golfers, nationwide, a professionally organized format in order to compete at the highest possible level. The genesis of the Tour was based on amateur golfers' overwhelming desire for a stage in order to truly compete against their peers. No net scrambles. No best-ball charity events.

Our goal is for participants on the Tour to receive a treatment comparable to what a golfer would get playing on a professional tour. Tour memberships are annual and vary based on the market.

Membership to the Tour entitles players to compete head-to-head against other players at their same skill level. Players are divided amongst six flights based on an initial verifiable handicap, such as a USGA® or GHIN index. In order to prevent 'sandbagging' the Tour has provided a Tour Index for each player throughout his or her membership. Once a member has established a
Tour Index, they will be flighted based on that handicap index for Tour competitions.

Tour events are generally stroke play formats and USGA® rules apply. There are specialty events throughout the season that utilize alternate formats such as best-ball team play or match play. The Tour schedules consist of both one-day and two-day events. Each event will have an entry fee that will vary based on the type of event and host course. Players accumulate 'Order of Merit' points based on their finish in each event. These points will be used for season-ending prizes as well as a method of qualifying for special events, and most importantly, the National Championship.

As a member of the Tour, you will receive a membership pack inclusive of an AAGT logo'd shirt, hat, ball marker/money clip, scorecard holder and membership card. You also receive an NGN handicap servce to coincide with your tour handicap index with your membership as well. Total estimated retail value of the AAGT membership pack is $110. Additional benefits will vary based on the region
. Your membership card enables you to enter and compete in any AAGT event nationwide. Players will aslo receive a printed version of the Tour Players Handbook (Word doc 1.6MB).

When playing in any Tour event, members are expected to follow the Tour Rules and Regulations.

The top finishers in each flight, per event, receive non-cash prizes. Prize awards vary from event to event based on player participation. A percentage of each entry fee is put into a prize pool and then distributed amongst the flights.

In order to abide by USGA® rules for amateur status, no single or cumulative prize value will exceed $750. An annual Tour membership entitles players to participate in any American Amateur Golf Tour event anywhere in the US.

Overall, the Tour is a great opportunity to meet other people with a passion for competition and the game of golf. With our great staff of Tour Directors, Tour Partners such as TaylorMade, Srixon, adidas and Pukka the upcoming season is going to go be a highly successful one.
