Sir Elford Cup Remains Out West For 2006

The team from San Diego captures the Sir Elford Cup by besting 23 teams

ORLANDO (Oct 10, 2005) - For the first three rounds of the 2005 Sir Elford Cup at Walt Disney World's Palm and Magnolia golf courses, the team from San Diego (CA) lurked just behind the leaders.

On Tuesday afternoon they made their move.

At the end of 360 matches, covering 3 different formats, the 2005 Sir Elford Cup once again produced a new champion.

Their tournament-best round 4 score of 124.5 was just enough to move past Chicago (IL), Orlando (FL) and Jacksonville (FL), who were all tied for the lead after round 3.

The 2005 Sir Elford Cup champions finished with a total score of 246, edging out Chicago (team 1) by 2.5 points. Jacksonville took third place with a score of 236.5, followed by Sarasota (FL) and Atlanta (GA) with 223.5 and 218.5, respectively.

The 2005 Sir Elford Cup champion San Diego team consists of: Gerry Simoni, Eric Harjung, Manuel Santiago, Jesus Buil, Greg Smith, Dominic Lizarraga, Vince Di Nardo, Sohn Gatlin, Danny Licciardi, John Usilton, Robert Horton, Victor Estebanez, and team captain Joe Wagner.
