Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour Announces New Tour Partner
Golfweek Magazine has partnered with the Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour for the 2004 season

TAMPA (Feb 16, 2004) - The Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour has recently announced the newest addition to their prominent list of Tour Partners - Golfweek Magazine. Golfweek will join TaylorMade, adidas and Maxfli as Tour Partners for the upcoming 2004 Tour season.

GolfWeek Magazine, based in Orlando, FL, is the definitive source for news from the front line of the game of golf with extensive coverage of professional, collegiate, amateur and junior events, the latest and greatest in equipment and technology breakthroughs, and spirited columns. "One of Golfweek's main focuses is on covering competitive golf, and that goes beyond just golf professionals. Partnering with the largest competitive amateur golf tour in the nation falls directly in line with our commitment to covering the entire realm of golf," stated Jim Nugent, Golfweek Publisher.

As the Official Print Media Partner of the Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour, Golfweek will provide coverage of the Tour on a weekly basis in the form of posting event results and schedules for the Tour's 500-plus events in nearly 50 markets nationwide. In addition to the weekly postings, there will be occasional features of select events throughout the season, such as the 2004 National Championship in Palm Springs, CA.

The Tour season starts late February and runs through October. Membership to the Tour is open to amateur men and women golfers of all skill levels. Players are divided amongst six flights based on an initial verifiable handicap, such as a USGA or GHIN index. The Tour has instituted a process to track a 'Tour Index' and/or scoring average for each player throughout their membership.

The Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour events are generally stroke play, conforming to USGA rules. The Tour schedules consist of both one-day and two-day events, along with the season ending Sir Elford Cup (54-hole team event) and National Championship (72-hole stroke play event). Each event will have an entry fee that will vary based on the type of event and host course.

Players are also awarded 'Order of Merit' points for participating in each tournament. These points are used for season-ending prizes and a method for qualifying for special events.

The Tour's Web site, ultragolftour.com can be used by players to register for upcoming events, get the latest Tour news and view player standings. It also will allow players to track their game with detailed statistics like greens in regulation, fairways hit and scoring average.

The Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour is wholly owned and operated by the American Amateur Golf Tour, LLC, based in Tampa, FL. Since its inception in 1986, the Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour has grown to over 4,000 golfers in nearly 50 cities participating in over 500 competitions for 2004.
